Gilbertson & Page (CANADA) Inc.
Gilbertson & Page (Canada) Inc. was established
in 1978 as the Canadian division of Gilbertson &
Page England. A Great Britain based company that specializes
in premium pet food.
Senior Vice President with Standard Brands (Nabisco)
in Montreal, Mr. Ralph Knowles moved westward to Fergus,
Ontario in the late 70’s to restructure Gilbertson
& Page Canada. Recognizing the limited market for
premium pet food in Canada, Mr. Knowles
switched his focus to Infra-Red Roasting of grains for
the food industry. With the addition of Helen Knowles
(Ralph’s daughter) in the early 90’s they
worked together to expand towards roasting premium grain
for the Beer industry. This was brought on by the demand
of a product once called “Torrified Wheat”
in the Canadian market, which originated in the UK.
Today, the Gilbertson & Page quality roasted adjuncts
(Pregelatinized) are used in many breweries throughout
North America and are widely available in the US with
Brewers Supply Group.
